Matt Bates is a respected figure in the equestrian world, known for his expertise in cross country course design, course building, and horse training.

As an FEI Level 3 Technical Delegate for Eventing, he has officiated in England, the United States, Australia and Japan, including the Tokyo Olympics. Matt brings elite-level experience to every project.

With a background as a competitor, skilled breaker and trainer, he understands horses from the ground up— creating courses and equipment that work with the horse’s natural instincts and rider’s goals. Whether designing world-class tracks or building handcrafted XC jumps and trail obstacles, Matt is committed to safety, performance, and craftsmanship at the highest standard.
