This see-saw consists of a 3-metre-long wooden plank (usually around 60–90cm wide) securely mounted on a central pivot or fulcrum, allowing it to tilt smoothly from one side to the other. The plank is made of durable, non-slip timber to ensure safety in all weather conditions, and the pivot is reinforced for stability and minimal wobble.

The height from the ground to the top of the fulcrum is typically 30–40cm, providing enough angle to challenge the horse without being intimidating.

The rider must guide the horse to walk steadily onto the ramp, allowing the see-saw to tip under the horse’s weight, then continue walking off the other side calmly and in control.
